I recommend Comedown Machine because how dare you
Also where's Tyranny
i am not a comedown man myself, however All The Time is a top 10 strokes song imo!
You should try The Libertines out. Up the bracket, their first album, is awesome:)
you got it! didn’t they share the same producer as the strokes? or am i thinking of another band idk
I think that the album was produced by Mick Jones (co-founder of The Clash). I don't think he has produced for The Strokes, has he?
After Up the Bracket you should try their self-titled second album as well
inner wave, the symposium, her’s, vampire weekend
Inner wave is so good!!!
Kid Bloom and Hot Flash Heat Wave, too!
i havent checked kid bloom but hot flash heat wave most definitely
He’s very enjoyable, bit lighter than tame impala bit heavier than pond, overally a great sound
so funny, i have been trying to figure out how i recognized the name kid bloom when it came on after a playlist ended and found this notification again today. def good artist. digging it
Hey, that’s great to hear! we’ll say we already knew him from random playlists when he becomes famous haha
Great fucking recs
The band Last Dinosaurs , they have some really sick guitar riffs that are similar to the Strokes!

Satellites and the album it's on are ethereal.
Car Seat Headrest - Teens of Denial
Meat Is Murder - The Smiths

Bloc Party - Silent Alarm and Tokyo Police Club - Champ albums are a must.
Built to Spill’s newest album ‘When The Wind Forgets Your Name’ is amazing. If you enjoy that listen to ‘Keep It like a Secret’ next.

Just all the albums from Foals tbh but what went down is probably my favourite
Kanye, The Beatles, Cage the Elephant, Arcade Fire
Check out Pond
Modest Mouse - Lonesome Crowded West or The Moon & Antarctica
The Velvet Underground & Nico
if u want strictly more strokes sounding shit check out benches, songs like modern day new york and angry lizard noise literally sound like lost strokes songs
Tyranny by The Voidz and Comedown Machine
Continuum - John Mayer
Come Around Sundown - Kings of Leon
The Bends - Radiohead
Future Perfect, Present Tense - Ten Fé
The first two kings of leon albums were super legit as well. Also: the cribs, cut copy, bloc party, franz ferdinand
the bends was my first radiohead album and i really like toms weird ass as of late, about to give the computer one a shot
Paramore - after laughter. This album gives me the strokes vibes
Haim - Women In Music Pt III
Mini Mansions - The Great Pretenders
I appreciate seeing Chuck Mangione
Put that album on just the other night.

Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George by Jack Johnson.

If you haven’t heard I’d melophobia by cage the elephant, if you have American Head by the flaming lips
Kero Kero Bonito - Time n' Place
Royal Blood - self titled

Angles being that low 😞
Comedown Machine not being on it. 💀
Daft punk-Discovery and RAM
The smile- a light attracting for attention
Broken social scene- self titled
Gorrilaz- plastic beach
Best Coast Nice!
Try Catfish and the Bottlemen, the balcony is really good, so is the Ride. I’m not too familiar with the Balance but I’m sure it great too.
OP are we the same person?
did we just become best friends???
You may like some stuff from Cage The Elephant. I'd say start with their 3rd album Melophobia. And Paramore may also be up your alley. Try out Brand New Eyes for more heavier stuff but After Laughter for 80s retro synth rock kinda stuff.
blue oyster cult- fire of unknown origin. trust me
More Interpol. Antics is a lot like their first album but after that they change up a bit but it's still very very good. Our love to admire is one of my favourite albums and I'm hooked on El Pintor at the moment
Maximo Park - A Certain Trigger, same British 2000’s scene, coast is always changing is a banger
More Arctic Monkeys
You might like some stuff by Gorillaz. It’s not a guarantee but at least for me personally they are my 2nd favorite band behind The Strokes
Cults - Static
Edit: Removed the “The”.
But yeah yeah yeah.
As well as all of their other stuff.
here are some personal recommendations I haven't seen:
Antics by Interpol
The Libertines by the Libertines
Silent Alarm by Bloc Party
Favourite Worst Nightmare by Arctic Monkeys
Loveless by my bloody valentine
Only by the Night by Kings of Leon
All three Wolf Alice albums
might add some more later on
HELL YEAH FLOWER OF DEVOTION
But do listen to some carseat headrest try out fill in the blank to see if you like their album teens of denial
LCD Soundsystem are arguably one of/if not the best New York band to come out of the 2000s in my opinion. The album Sound of Silver is a masterpiece that I'd recommend to anyone (especially a Strokes fan though).
(Edit) oh yeah also check out Lush by Snail Mail and/or A Hero's Death by Fontaine's DC. Heck, I'd even add Goo by Sonic Youth if ya really wanna branch out, even though it's probably their most accessible album by far.
Keep It Like A Secret - Built To Spill, namely 'Carry The Zero'.
Temporarily Blind and Broken Chairs are really good too, that whole album is great
Classic Indie album. BTS has a lot of other great songs too. Liar and Hindsight are two that I can think of now. Solid discography from top to bottom.
have you listened to their new album? it’s so good!
Yes, I’m really digging it so far. Only listened twice and I like to give things repeated listens before I really make up my mind. Most things I like take time to digest to appreciate fully.
i completely agree. i listened to it 6 times in one day so I have made up my mind hahahah
Nice lol 👍
Also, just saw them recently and they were great! Doug is a genius and his band mates have a lot of good energy too. See them if you can.
i wanted to see them so bad but they actually performed the same day as The Strokes here in Chicago 😭
Damn that sucks. Given that choice I would’ve chosen The Strokes too.
I’m hoping BTS tours again soon with this new release, do you think they will?
I think they probably will again in 2023, they’ve had quite a long touring schedule this year though so we will have to wait and see.
Dave Matthews Band
been to a few dave shows, great music
we aren't your fam, pal
Puscifer - Conditions of my Parole
Ants from up there - Black Country, New Road
Tell Me It's Real - Seafret

Also I recommend High Visceral Pt.1 by Psychedelic Porn Crumpets
Billy joel - the stranger
Nice Taste! The records match with mine
I'd recommend Radiohead because how dare you
There’s a band called corridor that’s really amazing. Fantastic dueling guitars and powerful driving pop/rock drums
Champ - Tokyo Police Club
With Love and Squalor - We are Scientists
Tourist History - Two Door Cinema Club
Not really albums, but songs. It's a better gateway to not overwhelm you with too much.
>No Buses - Pretty Old Man
Their stuff is very catchy ala classic Strokes.
>Mild High Club - Homage
Saw a bunch of psychedelic albums on your list. Thought I might add some.
>Camera Obscura - Hey Lloyd I'm ready to be Heartbroken
A huge influence on Alvvays. Very twee pop.
Any other arctic monkeys album
The Tea Party - Transmission and The Edges of Twilight.
I see two sides of your taste so I recommend you two different great artists: Jimi Hendrix and 070Shake
Check out the other tame Impala albums if you haven't already and since you're here give a listen to the smile's new album

The main squeeze
The Symposium, (Ignant) Benches, Audiots, Interpol

The growlers have a really good sound especially if you like khurangbin and the strokes
Dan Luke and the Raid
I alsi see you’re a Wild Onion fan hell yeah
No buses, boys loved her, very similar sound, and very underated IMO
Turnover - Peripheral Vision
Nothing But Thieves
The Mars Volta - Deloused in the Comatorium
Her's is an amazing band
Check out the album "Marquee Moon" by Television. It's a brilliant album.
David Bowie- station to station
The symposium self titled, and Nothing Happens by Wallows. Some super solid, lively guitar on those two.
The Beatless - Revolver
Catfish and the bottlemen
nevermind the living dead by stuck in the sound
Modest mouse is my favorite band and the strokes are number 2. Would also suggest Hop Along
Really obscure band, but take a listen to Vamonos by Naive Theives. Really good vocals, and a similar interweaving guitar writing style as the strokes.
I love that turnstile album
Broken Social Scene
The Rentals - Return of the Rentals, such a good album
Tatanic Rising- Weyes Blood
