Leaving aside the moral ambiguity of this, your main argument is strange. “2019 versions” of files doesn’t really mean anything – Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign are all perfectly capable of reading older versions of their files. If you must keep a 2019 version, make a copy of it before opening it with 2023. Illustrator can save to legacy formats, and InDesign can use .idml for backwards compatibility, and unless you’re using something cutting edge Photoshop is going to be able to open most things you throw at it. Join the real world and ditch your cracked copy.
